Cheats

ZZT has a number of hidden cheat codes accessible by holding SHIFT and press ? to bring up a text-box in the upper-right corner.

Cheat	Effect
ammo	Gives 5 ammo.
gems	Gives 5 health
health	Gives 50 health.
keys	Gives all 7 colors of keys.
time	Gives 30 extra seconds (for timed boards).
torches	Gives 3 torches.
zap	Destroys all 4 spaces surrounding the player.
dark	Darkens the room.
-dark	Undarkens the room (ZZT 3.2 only). Also clears the "dark" flag if one exists.
-[flagname]	Clear a flag.
+[flagname]	Sets a flag.

Some of these cheats may be dangerous (particularly ZAP, which can destroy critical objects, passages, board edges, etc.), and some worlds may have anti-cheat mechanisms in place. Use with caution.

Some ZZT worlds are designed for the player to use the -[flagname] or +[flagname] cheats to activate certain features, such as +i to bring up a custom inventory.
